Norwegian Jan has fallen in love with Pakistani Jasmin, and she has fallen in love with him. This does not lead to a simple, harmonious love story. Jasmin has already been promised to her Pakistani cousin, who will soon be on his way to Norway to marry her. Under cover of writing a scientific paper on immigrant stores, Jan starts working in the store belonging to Jasmin's father Allahditta and her brother-in-law Yousaf to work out Allahditta's conservative attitude towards mixed marriages. Like many first generation immigrants, he is totally against such marriages - at first. |
